Reviewed September 26, 2026. Research-based review of DronaHQ's official pricing page — not a hands-on benchmark. Jet Admin publishes this comparison and is a competing product.
DronaHQ is a low-code platform for internal tools, and its pricing does something most of its competitors do not: every plan includes unlimited users, with cost metered by tasks at $0.002 each instead.
That single choice inverts the usual arithmetic of this category, where a tool used by 50 people costs ten times one used by 5. It also means the headline price tells you less than usual.
DronaHQ review: the quick verdict
| Strong reasons to consider DronaHQ | Trade-offs to evaluate |
|---|---|
| Unlimited users on every plan | Entry price is $140 monthly — high for the category |
| Unlimited apps and connectors, even on Starter | Tasks are metered; the meter, not seats, sets your bill |
| Cloud or self-hosted, on the same tiers | Granular permissions and audit logs are Enterprise-only |
| Published top-up rate of $0.002/task | Pricing page defaults to annual, saving up to 33% |
No numerical score is given, because we did not run a scored hands-on evaluation.
What is DronaHQ?
DronaHQ builds internal applications — admin panels, operational tools, approval flows — over databases and APIs you already run. You assemble screens from 100+ UI components, bind them to queries, and deploy to cloud or your own infrastructure.
It sits in the same part of the market as Retool, Appsmith and UI Bakery, and competes with them primarily on the user model.
DronaHQ's key features
1. Unlimited users on every plan
This is the headline and it is unqualified — the pricing page leads with "Unlimited users | Pay as you go at $0.002/task." No builder seats, no viewer seats, no end-user fees.
For internal tools, this is the right way round. The whole point of an admin panel is that everyone who needs it can open it, and per-seat pricing creates a standing reason to restrict access.
2. Task-based metering
Instead of seats, DronaHQ meters tasks. Starter includes 25,000 a month and Business 125,000, with top-ups at $0.002 per task on every tier.
Note: the pricing page displays a second, higher task figure alongside each plan — 50,000 for Starter and 250,000 for Business. Those likely correspond to the cloud-versus-self-host toggle, but the page does not label them unambiguously, so confirm which allowance applies to your deployment before budgeting.
3. Unlimited apps and connectors from Starter
Unlimited web apps, unlimited database and API connectors, and unlimited reusable queries are included on the entry plan. Compare that with Superblocks charging $10 per app beyond the first.
4. Cloud or self-hosted
Both deployment modes are offered against the same plan structure, which matters for data residency without forcing an enterprise conversation.
5. Governance climbing by tier
Business adds SAML/OpenID SSO, data environments, custom domain and white labelling, custom controls, app catalogs and themes, and Git-based source control. Enterprise adds granular permissions, audit logs, custom connectors, offline mobile access and multiple SSO support.
DronaHQ pros
Unlimited users is the strongest argument in the category
Across this review series, per-seat pricing is the single most common source of surprise cost — Appsmith bills every workspace member at $15, Airtable bills anyone with edit rights, Budibase charges $5 per end user. DronaHQ removes that axis entirely, and for a widely-used internal tool that is worth more than any feature.
Unlimited apps means you can build small things
Operations teams rarely need one big tool; they need eight small ones. Not metering apps makes that pattern affordable.
The top-up rate is published
$0.002 per task, stated on the page, on every tier. You can model overage precisely rather than discovering it — better practice than most platforms here.
Self-hosting without an enterprise contract
Having a self-host option on the published tiers, rather than gated behind a quote, is genuinely useful for regulated teams.
DronaHQ cons and limitations
The entry price is high in absolute terms
$140 a month billed monthly, or $100 billed annually, is well above Appsmith's $15 per user or UI Bakery's $20 per developer at small team sizes. For three people, DronaHQ is the expensive option.
What to do: the break-even is roughly where per-seat competitors overtake $140. Against a $15-per-user platform that is about 9–10 users; against $20 per developer it is about 7. Below that, DronaHQ costs more; above it, DronaHQ costs less and keeps costing the same as you grow.
Tasks are the meter you have to forecast
Removing seats does not remove metering — it moves it. A busy tool consuming 200,000 tasks a month exceeds Starter's allowance, and the top-up is $0.002 each.
What to do: establish what counts as a task — a query, a write, a workflow step — before estimating, because the definition determines everything. Then multiply by your expected activity, not your user count.
Granular permissions and audit logs are Enterprise-only
Both sit above Business. If record-level access control or an audit trail is a compliance requirement, the published tiers do not cover you and you need a quote.
Who it affects: regulated teams, and anyone whose security review asks who changed what.
The pricing page defaults to annual
The displayed $100 and $500 are annual monthly-equivalents; monthly billing is $140 and $700. That is a 28–29% difference, against an advertised "save up to 33%."
What to do: check which toggle is selected before quoting a figure internally. This is the same trap Make and Adalo set.
Alternative pricing models exist but are not published
The page notes that "user-based" and "developer-only" plans are available on request. If task metering does not suit your usage shape, ask — but you cannot compare those options from the page.
What do DronaHQ users say?
We did not verify a current aggregate rating on G2 or Capterra for this review, so no score is cited. The figures above come from DronaHQ's own pricing page, read with both billing toggles.
If peer evidence matters, check those sources directly — and look specifically for comments on how task consumption behaves in production, since that is the number this review cannot estimate for you.
DronaHQ pricing in 2026
Read from DronaHQ's pricing page on September 26, 2026, with both billing toggles checked. USD. Our DronaHQ pricing guide works through the task model in more detail.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (monthly equivalent) | Tasks/month | Users | Notable |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $140 | $100 | 25,000 (a 50,000 figure is also shown — confirm) | Unlimited | Unlimited apps and connectors, 100+ components, 300 AI credits, up to 3 widgets |
| Business | $700 | $500 | 125,000 (250,000 also shown — confirm) | Unlimited | SSO, data environments, white labelling, Git source control, custom controls |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Unlimited | Granular permissions, audit logs, custom connectors, offline mobile, multiple SSO |
Top-ups are $0.002 per task on every tier. All plans include 300 AI credits. Cloud and self-hosted deployment are both available. A separate AI Agents platform is priced independently.
A worked comparison. A tool used by 40 people: on DronaHQ Starter that is $100 a month billed annually, regardless of the 40. On a platform charging $15 per user it is $600. On one charging $5 per end user plus a plan, roughly $250. DronaHQ's model wins decisively at that headcount — and loses to all of them at four users. Your user count, not your feature list, decides whether this pricing suits you.
Jet Admin vs. DronaHQ: which should you evaluate?
These are close competitors: both build internal tools over existing data, and both include unlimited users. The differences are in metering and where governance sits.
| Priority | What to evaluate |
|---|---|
| Unlimited users | Both include them on every plan — no differentiator here |
| Predictable monthly cost | Jet Admin is flat. DronaHQ meters tasks, so activity moves your bill |
| Unlimited apps | DronaHQ states this from Starter — verify Jet Admin's equivalent for your plan |
| Granular permissions and audit logs | Enterprise-only on DronaHQ. Jet Admin lists them on Business ($100/month, $80 annually) |
| Self-hosted deployment | DronaHQ offers it on published tiers |
| Low entry price for a small team | Jet Admin Pro is $20/month, or $16 annually, against DronaHQ's $140/$100 |
| Connecting to Postgres, MySQL and APIs | Both are built for this — test with your real schema |

When DronaHQ is the better choice
If you need self-hosted deployment on a published plan, or unlimited apps with unlimited users and your activity volume is modest, DronaHQ is a strong and honest offer. Its user model is the right one for internal tools, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.
Who should use DronaHQ — and who should compare alternatives?
Good fit: tools with large internal audiences where per-seat pricing would compound; teams building many small apps; organisations needing self-hosting without an enterprise contract; moderate task volumes.
Compare alternatives if: your team is small enough that $140 exceeds a per-seat bill; your tools are high-activity and task top-ups would accumulate; or you need granular permissions and audit logs without an Enterprise quote.
If you want unlimited users on a lower flat price, compare Jet Admin at your real user and activity numbers.
DronaHQ review FAQ
Does DronaHQ charge per user?
No. Every plan includes unlimited users. Cost is metered by tasks instead, at $0.002 per task for top-ups.
How much does DronaHQ cost?
Starter is $140 a month billed monthly or $100 billed annually; Business is $700 or $500; Enterprise is custom. Annual billing saves up to 33%.
What is a task in DronaHQ?
The pricing page meters tasks and publishes a $0.002 top-up rate but does not define a task in detail on that page. Confirm the definition before estimating, because it determines your whole forecast.
Can I self-host DronaHQ?
Yes — cloud and self-hosted deployment are both offered against the published tiers.
Which plan has audit logs?
Enterprise only, along with granular permissions, custom connectors and multiple SSO support. Business carries SAML/OpenID SSO but not audit logs.
How does DronaHQ compare with Jet Admin?
Both include unlimited users on every plan. DronaHQ meters tasks and offers self-hosting on published tiers; Jet Admin uses flat plans and publishes permissions, SSO and audit logs on Business. Entry price and activity volume usually decide it.
Count activity, not people
DronaHQ is the rare internal-tools platform where adding users is genuinely free, so the number to forecast is task volume. Work out what a task is, estimate your monthly total, and compare the result against what a per-seat platform would charge for the same audience.
If your team is small and the entry price is the obstacle, compare Jet Admin — it also includes unlimited users, at a lower flat rate.
