Reviewed September 26, 2026. This is a research-based review of Jotform's official pricing and published customer feedback — not a hands-on benchmark. Jet Admin publishes this comparison and builds a different category of product; competitor strengths are stated as found.
Jotform is worth considering when you need to collect structured information from people outside your team, take payments and capture signatures, without building anything. Its strongest advantage is breadth: over 30 payment processors, e-signatures and PDF generation are included rather than bolted on. The trade-off is that its plans meter two different submission limits, and adding colleagues to the account is an Enterprise conversation.
This review covers what Jotform does, the features that decide a purchase, the limits worth checking first, what reviewers report, current pricing and when a form is the wrong tool for the job.
Jotform review: the quick verdict
Jotform suits teams that need capable forms with payments or signatures and can live within a submission allowance. It is a weaker fit when several colleagues need their own access, or when the real requirement is an ongoing application rather than a collection point.
| Strong reasons to consider Jotform | Trade-offs to evaluate |
|---|---|
| Over 30 payment processors with no Jotform transaction fee | Two separate submission caps: monthly, and a lifetime storage total |
| E-signatures and PDF generation included | Multi-user access is gated to Enterprise |
| Large template library and fast drag-and-drop building | Signed documents and payment submissions have their own low caps |
| Long-term ratings around 4.7 across thousands of reviews | Recent reviews average markedly lower than the historical score |
No numerical score is given, because we did not run a scored hands-on evaluation.
What is Jotform?
Jotform is an online form builder. You assemble forms from a template or drag-and-drop editor, publish them, and collect responses — with optional payments, file uploads, conditional logic and electronic signatures.
The category distinction that matters for a business buyer: a form is a collection point with a beginning and an end. It gathers information and hands it off. It is not where work subsequently gets managed, which is the boundary this review returns to at the end.
Jotform's key features
1. Form building from templates or drag-and-drop
Reviewers consistently cite the template library and builder as the fastest part of the product — the common report is getting a usable form live in minutes rather than hours.
The practical benefit is that non-technical staff can own their own forms. The qualification is that forms carrying heavy conditional logic are reported as clunky to manage, so complexity should be tested, not assumed.
2. Payments across more than 30 processors
Supported processors include PayPal, Stripe, Square, Venmo, Braintree, Skrill and Moneris, and Jotform itself does not add a transaction fee on top of the processor's.
This is genuinely strong for order forms, donations, bookings and deposits. Note the separate cap: payment submissions are limited per month independently of your general submission allowance — 10 on the free plan, 100 on Bronze, 250 on Silver and 1,000 on Gold.
3. E-signatures and PDF generation
Signed documents and automatic PDF output are included rather than sold as an add-on, which removes a separate signing tool for straightforward agreements.
Signed documents also carry their own monthly cap, on the same 10 / 100 / 250 / 1,000 ladder. If signatures are your primary use case, that ladder — not the headline submission count — is the number that decides your plan.
4. Integrations into the tools you already use
Reviewers single out the Google Sheets connection as clean and reliable, alongside Slack and other common destinations. For a team that wants responses to land somewhere familiar without engineering, this is the feature that makes Jotform practical.
5. Storage, uploads and HIPAA on the top tier
Upload space runs from 100 MB on the free plan to 1 GB, 10 GB and 100 GB across Bronze, Silver and Gold. HIPAA features appear on Gold only.
If you handle protected health information, that single gate decides your plan regardless of volume — and it is worth confirming the specific HIPAA scope against your own compliance requirements before purchase.
Jotform pros
It is fast for the people who actually need forms
The most repeated praise is how quickly a non-technical person gets from template to live form. That matters more than it sounds: forms are usually needed by operations, HR and marketing staff who will not wait for a development queue.
Payments and signatures are included, not upsold
Having 30-plus processors with no Jotform transaction fee, plus e-signatures and PDFs in the same product, removes two separate subscriptions for many teams. For order intake or simple contracts, that is a real cost advantage over assembling equivalents.
The integration path is well-trodden
The Google Sheets connection in particular is described as frictionless. For small operations that genuinely run on a spreadsheet, Jotform plus Sheets is a legitimate, cheap answer — and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise.
The long-term review base is large and positive
Ratings of 4.7 across 5,424 G2 reviews and 2,918 Capterra reviews represent an unusually large and consistent sample. Whatever the recent trend, this is a mature product with a long record.
Jotform cons and limitations
There are two submission limits, and people plan around the wrong one
Plans cap monthly submissions and total submission storage. Bronze allows 1,000 submissions a month but 10,000 in total; Silver allows 2,500 monthly against 25,000 total; Gold allows 10,000 monthly against 100,000 total.
Who it affects: anyone running a steady form for more than a few months. Scope: documented on the pricing page. What to do: divide the storage total by your monthly volume to see how many months a plan actually lasts before you must delete data or upgrade. On Bronze at full monthly usage, that is ten months.
Multi-user access sits behind Enterprise
Reviewers consistently flag multi-user access as an Enterprise feature. For a self-service buyer, that means the whole account is effectively single-user until you enter a sales conversation with undisclosed pricing.
Who it affects: any team where more than one person needs to build or administer forms. What to do: establish early whether shared access is a requirement, because it changes the purchase from a $39–$129 monthly decision into a quote.
Recent sentiment is noticeably worse than the historical average
Against the long-term 4.7, recent reviews average around 3.1 out of 5 with roughly 47% of reviewers recommending. The recurring specifics are upgrade prompts, the low cap on signed forms and monthly form-view limits.
Scope: this is aggregated customer sentiment, not a product defect we verified. What to do: read the most recent reviews rather than the headline score, and confirm current view and signature limits against your expected volume.
Advanced customisation and organisation have ceilings
Reviewers report limited folder organisation, advanced features gated to higher plans, occasional formatting inconsistencies across devices, and complex conditional logic becoming awkward to maintain.
What to evaluate: build your most conditional form during a trial and open it on a phone. Both of those issues surface immediately or not at all.
What do Jotform users say?
| Source | Rating | Reviews behind it |
|---|---|---|
| G2 | 4.7 / 5 | 5,424 |
| Capterra | 4.7 / 5 | 2,918 |
| TrustRadius | 8.5 / 10 | 388 |
| Recent-review average (aggregated) | ~3.1 / 5 | Not verified |
Positive themes: speed from template to live form; payment gateway breadth without added fees; e-signature and PDF generation; clean Google Sheets integration; large template library.
Negative themes: pricing escalation as usage grows; folder organisation limits; multi-user access requiring Enterprise; a restrictive free plan; low signed-document caps; monthly form-view limits.
The gap between the historical and recent scores is the most useful signal here. A product can be both genuinely good and getting more expensive to use as your volume grows — those reports are consistent with each other rather than contradictory.
Jotform pricing in 2026
Read from Jotform's pricing page on September 26, 2026. USD, excluding tax.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Annual monthly equivalent | Forms | Submissions/month | Total submission storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter (Free) | $0 | $0 | $0 | 5 | 100 | 500 |
| Bronze | $39 | $408 | $34 | 25 | 1,000 | 10,000 |
| Silver | $49 | $468 | $39 | 50 | 2,500 | 25,000 |
| Gold | $129 | $1,188 | $99 | 100 | 10,000 | 100,000 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Additional caps that often decide the plan: payment submissions and signed documents both run 10 / 100 / 250 / 1,000 across Starter to Gold. Upload space runs 100 MB / 1 GB / 10 GB / 100 GB. Jotform branding appears on the free plan and is removable from Bronze upward. HIPAA features are Gold-only.
An illustrative sizing check. A recruitment form taking 800 applications a month fits Bronze's 1,000 monthly limit comfortably — but reaches Bronze's 10,000 total storage in twelve and a half months. At that point the decision is delete historical applications or upgrade, and neither is obvious at purchase time. For deeper calculations see our Jotform pricing guide.
Where Jet Admin fits alongside Jotform
These are different categories, so this is a stack comparison rather than a replacement. Jotform collects information. Jet Admin is where information gets worked on — reviewed, assigned, approved, updated and reported.
Most operational processes need both halves. A supplier onboarding form is a Jotform job; tracking those suppliers through verification and approval afterwards is not.
| Requirement | Jotform fit and constraints | Jet Admin fit and constraints |
|---|---|---|
| Collect structured input from outside your org | Core strength, with payments and signatures | Not its focus; use a form for intake |
| Take payments in the flow | 30+ processors, no Jotform fee, capped per month by plan | Verify current capability for your flow |
| Manage records after submission | Submissions are stored against plan caps, not managed as a workflow | Core strength — views, roles and actions on the data |
| Several colleagues need their own access | Multi-user access reported as Enterprise-gated | Unlimited users on every plan |
| Permissions, SSO and audit logs | Governance concentrated in Enterprise | Granular permissions, SSO and audit logs on Business ($100/month, $80 annually) |
| Long-term data retention | Bounded by total submission storage per plan | Data stays in your own database |

Because both usually stay in the stack, do not model dropping Jotform as a saving. The useful question is narrower: if you are storing submissions in Jotform mainly so someone can look through them, that job belongs in an application, and the storage cap stops being your constraint.
When Jotform alone is the right answer
If you genuinely need to collect responses, take a payment, get a signature and file the result — and nobody manages anything afterwards — Jotform is sufficient and cheaper than adding a second tool. Many form requirements really are form requirements.
Who should use Jotform — and who should compare alternatives?
Good fit: forms with payments or signatures; teams needing non-technical staff to own their own forms; steady, predictable volumes within a plan's caps; anyone already running on Google Sheets.
Compare alternatives if: multiple colleagues need separate access without an Enterprise quote; your submission history must be retained indefinitely; your process continues well past submission; or you need documented governance on a self-service plan.
If the real need is the second half — managing what arrives — build that workflow on your own data with Jet Admin and keep the form for intake.
Jotform review FAQ
What is Jotform?
An online form builder with templates, conditional logic, file uploads, payments across 30-plus processors, e-signatures and PDF generation.
Is Jotform free?
Yes — the Starter plan is free with 5 forms, 100 submissions a month, 500 total stored submissions, 100 MB of uploads and Jotform branding. Paid plans begin at $39 monthly, or $34 monthly on an annual commitment.
How many submissions does Jotform allow?
Two separate limits apply. Monthly submissions run 100 / 1,000 / 2,500 / 10,000 across Starter to Gold, and total stored submissions run 500 / 10,000 / 25,000 / 100,000. The total is the one most people miss.
Does Jotform charge extra on payments?
Jotform does not add its own transaction fee; your payment processor's fees still apply. Payment submissions are capped per month by plan, from 10 on Starter to 1,000 on Gold.
Can several people use one Jotform account?
Reviewers consistently report multi-user access as an Enterprise feature, and Enterprise pricing is not published. Confirm this before buying if shared access matters.
When do I need more than a form?
When work continues after submission — assignment, approval, status changes, reporting — or when people need different levels of access to the same records. That is an application requirement, not a form requirement.
Check both submission limits before you choose a plan
Take your expected monthly volume, confirm it fits the monthly cap, then divide the plan's total storage figure by it. That second number tells you how long the plan lasts, and it is the calculation most buyers skip.
If the answer is that you mainly need somewhere to work through what arrives, build that on your existing data with Jet Admin and let the form do only intake.
