WeWeb Review 2026: Features, Pricing, and Limits

WeWeb Review 2026: Features, Pricing, and Limits

Reviewed September 26, 2026. Research-based review of WeWeb's official pricing — not a hands-on benchmark. Jet Admin publishes this comparison and is a competing product.

WeWeb is a front-end builder for web applications, designed to sit on top of a backend you choose — Supabase, Xano, a REST API, your own database. Its strongest argument is exit: code export and GitHub sync appear from the $20 plan, which is unusually early for this category.

The complication is billing. WeWeb charges on two axes — a workspace plan and per-project hosting — and most cost surprises come from reading only one of them.

WeWeb review: the quick verdict

Strong reasons to consider WeWebTrade-offs to evaluate
Code export and GitHub sync from $20/monthTwo separate charges: workspace plan plus per-project hosting
Backend-agnostic — bring Supabase, Xano or your own APIAI tokens are metered on every tier
Free tier usable up to 1,000 sessionsEach additional project adds a hosting cost
Annual billing saves up to 20%You still need to build and run a backend separately

No numerical score is given, because we did not run a scored hands-on evaluation.

What is WeWeb?

WeWeb builds the interface layer of a web application visually, then connects it to whatever holds your data. It does not supply a database or backend logic of its own — that is a deliberate design choice, and it determines who WeWeb suits.

If you already have a backend, or intend to build one properly, WeWeb gives you a front end without hand-writing components. If you want one tool that provides both, WeWeb is only half the stack.

WeWeb's key features

1. Code export and GitHub sync

Available from the Essential plan at $20 a month. This is the feature that most distinguishes WeWeb commercially: your work is not trapped. Across the no-code field, export is usually either absent, partial, or reserved for enterprise tiers — WeWeb puts it near the entry point.

2. Backend-agnostic connections

WeWeb connects to Supabase, Xano, REST APIs and databases rather than imposing its own data layer. That suits teams with existing infrastructure and teams who want to choose their own.

3. Visual front-end building

The builder targets genuine web applications rather than sites — state, conditional rendering, data binding and component structure.

4. AI assistance, metered in tokens

Every tier includes an AI token allowance: 1 million on Free, 10 million on Essential, 25 million to 150 million across the Pro range.

5. Separate hosting tiers

Projects are hosted on their own plans: Free, Launch+ at $13, Grow+ at $20 and Scale+ at $66. This is charged per project, alongside the workspace plan.

WeWeb pros

Exit is a first-class feature, not an enterprise upsell

Code export and GitHub sync at $20 a month materially reduces platform risk. If WeWeb changes its pricing, is acquired, or stops fitting your needs, you keep the front end you built. Very few tools in this category can say that at this price.

You keep control of your data layer

Because WeWeb does not own your backend, your data is never inside a proprietary store you cannot reach. This is the opposite of the trade-off that makes Base44 and similar platforms hard to leave.

The free tier is genuinely usable

Free up to 1,000 sessions is enough to validate an idea with real users, not just to click around a builder.

Annual billing discount is meaningful

Up to 20% off is at the higher end of what this category offers.

WeWeb cons and limitations

Two-axis pricing is easy to under-estimate

This is the most important practical caution. Your bill is a workspace plan plus hosting for each project. Reading only the plan table understates your cost, and the gap grows with every project you ship.

What to do: before comparing WeWeb with anything else, add your workspace tier to hosting for the number of projects you expect to run. Comparing WeWeb's $20 against a competitor's all-in $20 is not a like-for-like comparison.

Per-project hosting penalises portfolios

If you build many small applications — an agency pattern — each carries its own hosting charge.

Who it affects: agencies and teams with many separate internal apps. What to do: count projects, multiply by the hosting tier each needs, and compare that total against platforms that price per workspace.

AI tokens are a metered resource

Token allowances range from 1 million on Free to 150 million at the top of Pro. If AI assistance is central to how you build, that ceiling matters, and token consumption is difficult to predict before you start.

You still need a backend

WeWeb's scope is the front end. Budget and staff for Supabase, Xano or your own API alongside it — the total cost of a WeWeb application is never just WeWeb.

What do WeWeb users say?

We did not verify a current aggregate rating from G2 or Capterra for this review, so no score is cited. The pricing and feature details above come from WeWeb's own pricing page.

Stating this plainly is more useful than reproducing an unverified number: if user sentiment is a deciding factor for you, check G2 and Capterra directly and weigh the review count as well as the average.

WeWeb pricing in 2026

Read from WeWeb's pricing page on September 26, 2026. USD. Annual billing saves up to 20%. Our WeWeb pricing and alternatives guide works through the combined workspace-plus-hosting maths in more detail.

Workspace plans:

PlanPriceAI tokensNotable inclusions
Free$01 millionFree up to 1,000 sessions
Essential$20/month10 millionCode export, GitHub sync
Pro$50–$300/month25 million at $50, up to 150 million at $300Higher token tiers

Hosting plans, charged per project:

Hosting tierPrice
Free$0
Launch+$13/month
Grow+$20/month
Scale+$66/month

An illustrative total. One production application on Essential with Grow+ hosting is $20 + $20 = $40 a month, before your backend. Three production applications on the same tiers is $20 + $60 = $80. Five on Scale+ is $20 + $330 = $350. The workspace plan is the smaller number in most real scenarios — which is why quoting WeWeb as a $20 tool is misleading.

When WeWeb is the better choice

If avoiding lock-in is a hard requirement — because of procurement rules, investor diligence, or simple caution — WeWeb's export is a genuine reason to choose it over platforms that keep your work inside their walls, including ours. That is worth more than a few dollars of monthly difference.

Who should use WeWeb — and who should compare alternatives?

Good fit: teams with an existing backend; developers who want visual front-end building without lock-in; anyone for whom code export is a requirement; projects where full interface control matters.

Compare alternatives if: you want one tool covering interface and data; you will run many small projects and per-project hosting adds up; you need a predictable single bill; or you do not have backend capability in-house.

If your goal is an internal tool over an existing database rather than a custom front end, build it in Jet Admin and compare the total.

WeWeb review FAQ

What is WeWeb used for?

Building the front end of web applications visually, connected to a backend you supply — Supabase, Xano, a REST API or your own database.

How much does WeWeb cost?

Workspace plans are Free, Essential at $20 a month, and Pro from $50 to $300. Hosting is charged separately per project at Free, $13, $20 or $66. Your real cost is the sum of both.

Can you export code from WeWeb?

Yes — code export and GitHub sync are included from the Essential plan at $20 a month, which is unusually early for this category.

Does WeWeb include a backend?

No. WeWeb is a front-end builder; you connect your own backend. Budget for that separately.

Is WeWeb free?

There is a free tier with 1 million AI tokens, usable up to 1,000 sessions, plus free hosting.

How does WeWeb compare with Jet Admin?

WeWeb gives more interface control and lets you export code; Jet Admin is a single tool that connects to your data and includes unlimited users on flat plans. Export requirements and project count usually decide it.

Add hosting before you compare prices

WeWeb's headline plan is not its cost. Multiply hosting by the number of projects you will actually run, add your backend, and compare that figure — not $20 — against the alternatives.

If the total surprises you and lock-in is not your main concern, try Jet Admin on the same requirement.

What is Jet Admin

Jet Admin is the AI app builder for turning your existing data into real business software — no code required. Describe what you need, and Jet's AI Builder instantly generates the app, connected to your live database or API, with role-based access and audit logs already built in.

Teams use it to build everything from admin panels and internal tools to CRMs, customer portals, and inventory systems — on the data they already have, with no per-seat fees and no migration required.
