Sales Dashboard Templates: Pipeline, Forecasting and KPI Dashboards You Can Build

A sales dashboard puts the numbers a sales team runs on in one place: what is in the pipeline, what will close this quarter, which reps are on track and where deals are stalling. A good one answers the question a manager would otherwise ask in the Monday meeting, before the meeting.

Most dashboards fail for one of two reasons. They are built on an export that is stale by Tuesday, or they show twenty charts nobody acts on. The templates below each serve one audience and one decision, and they read from live data.

Six sales dashboard templates

1. Pipeline dashboard

For: sales managers, weekly.

  • Open pipeline value by stage, as a funnel.
  • Deals added and lost this week.
  • Average days in each stage, with deals over the norm flagged.
  • Pipeline coverage: open pipeline divided by remaining quota.

2. Sales forecasting dashboard

For: sales leaders and finance, monthly and quarterly.

  • Committed, best case and pipeline forecast against target.
  • Weighted pipeline by close date.
  • Forecast accuracy for past quarters.
  • Deals that slipped from last month's forecast.

3. Sales activity dashboard

For: team leads, daily.

  • Calls, emails and meetings per rep against targets.
  • Meetings booked and held.
  • Follow-ups overdue.
  • Activity per deal, so neglected deals stand out.

4. Sales KPI dashboard

For: leadership, monthly.

  • Revenue against target, month and year to date.
  • Win rate and average deal size, trended.
  • Sales cycle length.
  • Customer acquisition cost and new customers per period.

5. Rep performance dashboard

For: managers in one-to-ones.

  • Quota attainment per rep.
  • Win rate and deal size per rep compared with the team.
  • Pipeline per rep by stage.
  • Row-level access, so each rep sees their own numbers and managers see their team.

6. E-commerce sales dashboard

For: e-commerce and operations teams, daily.

  • Orders and revenue today, this week and against last period.
  • Average order value and conversion rate.
  • Top products and categories.
  • Refunds and returns rate.

How to build a sales dashboard that stays useful

  1. Start from the decision. Write down what the viewer will do differently after looking at it. Remove any chart that does not change a decision.
  2. Connect live data. Read directly from the CRM, database or order system, so the dashboard is right when someone opens it.
  3. Define every metric once. Agree what counts as a closed deal or a qualified opportunity and use the same definition everywhere.
  4. Control who sees what. Reps see their own deals, managers see their team, leadership sees everything.
  5. Make it actionable. Let managers click from a stalled deal to the record and update it, rather than switching tools.

Building sales dashboards with Jet Admin

Jet Admin builds sales dashboards on the data you already have: Salesforce, HubSpot, Stripe, Postgres, MySQL, BigQuery or any of 200+ integrations. Describe the dashboard, such as "pipeline by stage for my team, deals stuck more than 14 days, and quota attainment per rep", and Jet generates the charts, tables and filters on live data. Because it is an app rather than a static report, a manager can open a deal, change its stage or reassign it from the same screen.

Users are unlimited on every plan, so every rep can have their own view. Granular permissions, SSO and audit logs are on the Business plan and above. For tools focused on dashboards, see our list of custom dashboard software.

Frequently asked questions

What should a sales dashboard include?

Pipeline by stage, forecast against target, win rate, average deal size, sales cycle length and activity, filtered to the viewer's role.

What is the difference between a sales dashboard and a sales report?

A report is a snapshot for a period. A dashboard is a live view people check regularly to act on what is happening now.

Can I build a sales dashboard from my CRM data?

Yes. Most CRMs have built-in dashboards, and tools like Jet Admin can combine CRM data with billing or database data in one view.

How many KPIs should a sales dashboard have?

Usually five to eight per audience. More than that and the important ones get lost.
