Superblocks Review 2026: Pricing, Limits, and Fit
Reviewed September 26, 2026. Research-based review of Superblocks' official pricing — not a hands-on benchmark. Jet Admin publishes this comparison and is a competing product.
Superblocks builds internal tools and applications over your existing data, competing most directly with Retool. Its pricing has one clear strength — 15 builder seats bundled into a single plan — and two details worth resolving before you commit: only one hosted app is included, and the plan lists a monthly GAU cap alongside "unlimited end users," which needs reconciling.
Superblocks review: the quick verdict
| Strong reasons to consider Superblocks | Trade-offs to evaluate |
|---|---|
| Up to 15 builders bundled into the Teams plan | Only 1 hosted app included; each extra is $10/month |
| $100/month annually works out low per builder | A 100 GAU monthly cap sits oddly beside "unlimited end users" |
| RBAC included on Teams, not held back for Enterprise | Enterprise is quote-only, with no published figures |
| Annual billing saves $25/month against monthly | VPC, SSO, audit logs and source control are Enterprise-only |
No numerical score is given, because we did not run a scored hands-on evaluation.
What is Superblocks?
Superblocks is a platform for building internal applications — admin panels, operational dashboards, back-office tools — connected to databases and APIs you already run. It targets the same buyers as Retool, and its pricing reads as a deliberate response to Retool's per-seat model.
Superblocks' key features
1. Fifteen builders in one plan
Teams includes up to 15 builders rather than charging per developer. At $100 a month billed annually, that is roughly $6.70 per builder if you use all fifteen — substantially below what per-seat competitors charge for editing access.
This is the plan's strongest feature, and it is aimed squarely at the main complaint about Retool.
2. Role-based access control on Teams
RBAC is included at the Teams level rather than reserved for Enterprise. Several platforms in this category — Appsmith and UI Bakery among them — place RBAC a tier higher.
3. Unlimited end users
The plan states unlimited end users, which matters for tools used widely across an organisation.
4. Hosted apps, charged individually
One hosted app is included. Additional ones are $10 per app per month.
5. Enterprise infrastructure controls
VPC deployment, SSO, audit logs and source control integration are Enterprise features, priced by quote.
Superblocks pros
Builder seats are genuinely cheap
Fifteen builders for $100 a month is the clearest argument for Superblocks. If you have a team of developers who all need edit access, per-seat platforms cost multiples of this.
RBAC without an enterprise contract
Permissions are usually the feature that forces a sales conversation. Having RBAC on a self-serve plan is a real advantage for teams that need access control but not a procurement cycle.
Unlimited end users
Tools become valuable when everyone who needs them can use them. Not charging for end users removes a common reason internal tools stay under-adopted.
A meaningful annual discount
$100 against $125 is 20% — worth taking if you are confident in the commitment.
Superblocks cons and limitations
One hosted app is a low ceiling
Most teams that build internal tools build several. At $10 per additional app per month, five apps is $140 a month rather than $100 — a 40% increase that the headline price does not signal.
What to do: count the apps you expect within a year and add $10 for each beyond the first. Compare that total, not $100.
The GAU limit needs clarifying
The Teams plan lists 100 GAUs a month and, separately, unlimited end users. Those two statements are hard to reconcile without knowing exactly what a GAU counts.
What to do: ask Superblocks directly what a GAU is and how it interacts with the unlimited end-user claim, before assuming either figure governs your use case. We are flagging this rather than guessing at a definition — a wrong interpretation here could be expensive.
Governance features are Enterprise-only
VPC deployment, SSO, audit logs and source control integration all require an Enterprise quote. If any of those are compliance requirements, the published $100 tier is not your price.
No free tier is listed
Unlike Appsmith, ToolJet and UI Bakery, there is no free plan in the published pricing — so evaluation likely means a trial conversation.
What do Superblocks users say?
We did not verify a current aggregate rating on G2 or Capterra for Superblocks, so no score is cited. The figures above come from Superblocks' own pricing page.
Worth checking directly if peer evidence matters to you, particularly on the questions this review cannot settle: how the GAU limit behaves in practice, and how much engineering effort real deployments require.
Superblocks pricing in 2026
Read from Superblocks' pricing page on September 26, 2026. USD. Our Superblocks pricing guide works through the per-app and per-builder maths in more detail.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Builders | End users | Hosted apps | Notable inclusions |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Teams | $125/month | $100/month | Up to 15 | Unlimited | 1, then $10/app/month | RBAC, 100 GAUs/month |
| Enterprise | Quote only | Quote only | Custom | Unlimited | Custom | VPC, SSO, audit logs, source control |
An illustrative total. A team of eight developers running four internal tools pays $100 annually plus $30 for the three extra apps — $130 a month, or $16.25 per builder. The same eight builders on a platform charging $15 per editor would be $120 for seats alone, before app counts. Superblocks wins that comparison; it loses one where you run twenty small apps and only two people build them.
Jet Admin vs. Superblocks: which should you evaluate?
| Priority | What to evaluate |
|---|---|
| Many developers needing edit access | Superblocks bundles 15 builders — strong here |
| Many separate apps | Superblocks charges $10 per app beyond the first. Check Jet Admin's app limits |
| Unlimited end users | Both include them |
| RBAC without an enterprise contract | Superblocks includes it on Teams; Jet Admin lists permissions on its paid tiers |
| SSO and audit logs on a self-serve plan | Enterprise-only on Superblocks. Jet Admin lists them on Business ($100/month, $80 annually) |
| A free tier to evaluate with | Superblocks publishes none. Check Jet Admin's free plan |
| Connecting to Postgres, MySQL or internal APIs | Both are built for this — test with your actual schema |

When Superblocks is the better choice
If you have a substantial engineering team who all need to build, 15 bundled builders at $100 a month is a genuinely strong offer and the right reason to choose Superblocks. Per-seat pricing elsewhere would cost considerably more for the same team.
Who should use Superblocks — and who should compare alternatives?
Good fit: engineering teams with many builders; organisations needing RBAC without an enterprise contract; teams running a small number of substantial applications; existing Retool users frustrated by per-seat costs.
Compare alternatives if: you will run many separate small apps; you need SSO or audit logs without an Enterprise quote; you want a free tier to evaluate; or the GAU limit turns out to constrain your usage pattern.
If you need SSO and audit logs on a published plan, compare Jet Admin's Business tier against a Superblocks Enterprise quote.
Superblocks review FAQ
What is Superblocks?
A platform for building internal tools and applications over your existing databases and APIs, competing most directly with Retool.
How much does Superblocks cost?
Teams is $125 a month, or $100 billed annually, covering up to 15 builders and one hosted app. Additional apps are $10 each per month. Enterprise is quote-only.
Does Superblocks charge per developer?
Not within the Teams plan — up to 15 builders are included, which works out low per seat.
What is a GAU on the Superblocks plan?
The Teams plan lists 100 GAUs a month alongside unlimited end users. Those two figures need reconciling, and we recommend asking Superblocks directly rather than assuming a definition.
How many apps can I build?
One hosted app is included; each additional one is $10 a month. Count your expected apps before comparing prices.
How does Superblocks compare with Jet Admin?
Superblocks bundles more builder seats; Jet Admin publishes SSO and audit logs on a self-serve plan and includes unlimited users. Builder count and app count usually decide it.
Count apps, and ask about GAUs
Superblocks' $100 plan is good value for a team of builders and less so for a portfolio of apps. Add $10 per app beyond the first, and get a written answer on what a GAU counts before you sign.
If governance features on a published plan matter more than builder count, compare Jet Admin on the same requirement.
