Xano Pricing in 2026: Plans, Costs, and Limits Explained

Xano pricing starts at $0 for development. Essential costs $99/month, or $1,020 billed annually; Pro costs $249/month, or $2,688 annually. A paid backend subscription can still be only part of the app budget: capacity add-ons and the user-facing interface need separate consideration.

Pricing checked September 25, 2026. US dollars; taxes excluded from illustrative calculations. Annual rates are monthly equivalents, not monthly invoices.

What each plan includes

Free: build and test

Free includes an API builder and a database capped at 100,000 records. Its API rate limit is 10 requests per 20 seconds. Use it to establish the data model and endpoint behavior. A small record count alone does not prove that it fits a burst of simultaneous requests.

Essential: deploy a production backend

Essential adds dedicated infrastructure, background tasks, branching, and seven-day rolling backups. The plan removes the published API rate limit and includes 100 GB of file and image storage. It is the first paid tier to assess for a small production application.

Pro: expand collaboration and operational controls

Pro adds more team seats and workspaces, a role and permissions manager, a managed load balancer, and fourteen-day rolling backups. Choose it when those capabilities are required or after testing demonstrates the need for its capacity. A higher tier should solve an identified constraint.

Custom: specify the deployment

Custom is the route for requirements such as self-hosting and enterprise arrangements. Ask for the infrastructure scope, support, environments, and recurring charges in writing. A sales quote should be compared with a complete managed deployment, including the work your team takes on.

How Xano calculates your bill

Known recurring cost = selected backend plan + applicable add-ons. Add interface software, external services, implementation, and taxes to calculate the project budget. Xano’s paid API offer is not a published per-request tariff, so multiplying requests by an invented unit price would be misleading.

“No API rate limit” does not mean infinite throughput. Endpoint complexity, database work, and concurrency still matter. Load-test the slowest important workflows and include scheduled jobs in the test. Pay annually only after you understand the backend’s steady requirements.

What does Xano cost for an operations app?

Both examples assume a single purchased plan, adequate included storage, and no paid external APIs. They illustrate subscription choices, not guaranteed performance for a particular traffic level.

Scenario 1: three backend collaborators

ItemAssumptionCost
PlanEssential; three collaborators fit five included seats$99/month
Add-onsNone required in this example$0
Known backend totalMonthly billing$99/month
Annual alternative$85 × 12$1,020/year

The annual option saves $168 against twelve $99 monthly payments. It is a commitment to the year, not an $85 cancel-any-month invoice.

Scenario 2: eight collaborators and additional compute

ItemAssumptionMonthly cost
PlanPro; eight collaborators fit ten included seats$249
CPU and Autoscale boostOne listed add-on$180
Known backend total249 + 180$429
Twelve months at these monthly rates429 × 12$5,148

The second example buys more backend capacity and collaboration scope; it does not imply that eight collaborators cause compute demand. Add the boost only when workload testing justifies it. Annual base-plan discounts should not be assumed to apply to add-ons.

Add-ons and costs beyond the base plan

Xano lists CPU and Autoscale boost at $180/month, storage expansions at $5–$10/month, and enhanced security including HIPAA and a BAA at $500/month. Confirm eligible plans and the exact storage package before purchase. These are vendor charges; endpoint design, migration, and testing are separate project work. Source: Xano add-ons.

Where Jet Admin fits alongside Xano

Xano builds the backend; Jet Admin can provide the app interface. For example, an operations team could review requests and trigger Xano API actions from a shared app. Keep authentication, endpoint authorization, and error handling in the design. Jet Admin’s Xano integration walkthrough shows this complementary setup.

Jet Admin Pro is $20/month or $192/year; Business is $100/month or $960/year. Business adds granular permissions, SSO, and audit logs. On monthly billing, scenario 1 plus Pro is $119/month; scenario 2 plus Business is $529/month before other usage, services, and taxes. Those are combined stack subtotals, not savings from replacing Xano. Jet Admin pricing.

Which plan should you choose?

Use Free to validate endpoints and the data model. Evaluate Essential for a small production backend. Choose Pro when collaboration, controls, or tested capacity require it. Seek a Custom quote for a specific self-hosted or enterprise deployment. Keep the front-end decision separate from the backend tier.

Frequently asked questions

Is Xano free?

A Free plan is available with database and request limits. It is useful for building and testing; compare your production requirements with those limits.

Does every app user need a paid Xano seat?

The displayed team seats concern backend collaboration. Do not treat all application users as additional backend builder seats.

Does unlimited API usage guarantee unlimited capacity?

No. The absence of a published rate cap does not remove compute, storage, or workload constraints.

Can Xano build the front end?

Xano’s FAQ distinguishes backend creation from front-end development. Static hosting for prebuilt assets does not itself build the application interface.

For an operational interface on your backend, follow the Jet Admin and Xano walkthrough using a representative workflow.
